This dual purpose simmer ring /choke enables you to simmer or reduces the output of the burner to better suit smaller diameter pans.
I mainly use this to cook rice which really needs to be simmered as it doesn't cook that well in a pot cozy.
Once the water is boiling place the ring on the burner and the output will reduce to allow a steady simmer.
For smaller pans (<100mm diameter) place the choke on the burner before you light it.
Weighs 2g and will save more than its weight in fuel over a weekend of cooking.
Stores on the lid of your burner when not in use.
The simmer ring is supplied with a 25mm central aperture, which is usually ok with pans up to 1L.
You can tune the aperture by either reducing the aperture size by partially closing the hole with a coin or if a larger hole is required by opening it up with nail scissors. If you find an appropriate size for your own setup, you can order a custom aperture size by adding a note to your order.
As with all our products these are hand made, so some variation in finish is to be expected. Obviously function is unaffected.
